The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Petroleum and Petroleum Products Council President Ahmet Erdem emphasized that all stakeholders of the sector are working with extraordinary efforts to carry out the works in the earthquake region in the healthiest way.

TOBB Petroleum and Petroleum Products Council drew attention to the troubles experienced in the earthquake region. The statement emphasizes that great efforts are underway to eliminate the problems experienced in the markets and toilets of some stations due to the damages in the water or sewerage networks. Pointing out that they are working together to deliver fuel to the earthquake region without interruption, the statement included the following views:

“As TOBB Petroleum and Petroleum Products Council, we are deeply experiencing the pain of the February 6 earthquake disaster, which is one of the biggest disasters our country has experienced. We pray for mercy from Allah to those who lost their lives, urgent healing to our wounded and patience to their relatives.

Refineries, distribution companies and fuel dealers have been working together to ensure that search and rescue operations continue uninterrupted since the first hours of the disaster, that generators in places where electricity cannot be used, especially in our hospitals, work continuously and that the sustainability of transportation is not disrupted and that the fuel oil that is vital to reach the region.

In addition to the regional dealers who continue to serve in their pain and mourning, fuel dealers from many provinces of our country send their tankers, drivers and products to the region from the first hours of the earthquake.

Regarding damage to water or sewerage networks, great efforts are being made to eliminate the problems experienced in the markets and toilets of some stations.

TOBB Petroleum and Petroleum Products Sector Council members and sector stakeholders have delivered and continue to deliver millions of liters of fuel supply to the regions of need under the coordination of AFAD since the beginning of the earthquake.

For the uninterrupted supply of fuel, we continue to increase our mobilization with all stakeholders of the fuel sector, especially the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, EMRA, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, from refinery to distribution company, dealers, supporting transportation and service providers, station employees and drivers.
