TOBB Vice President Ayhan ZeytinoÄŸlu stated that the KahramanmaraÅŸ-centered earthquake on February 6, 2023 affected 10 provinces and prayed for the grace of Allah upon those who lost their lives in this disaster that drowned the whole country in grief, expressing condolences to their families and relatives, and urgent healing to those who survived. He expressed that there is a great sensitivity to help the earthquake region.
ZeytinoÄŸlu stated that everyone has duties in order to heal the wounds after the earthquake, and that as TOBB, aid and support are provided to the earthquake region in coordination with all chambers and commodity exchange communities and councils and state institutions. Ayhan ZeytinoÄŸlu emphasized that it would be useful for the sector to evaluate what can be done about the earthquake.
Council Speaker Timur Erk emphasized the importance of this meeting, which was held to evaluate what the chemical sector is in and what can be done to heal its wounds after the earthquake disaster. Timur Erk then gave the floor to Council Members who shared information about the chemical and infrastructure facilities damaged in the earthquake area.
Following the information sharing on the earthquake, the council members evaluated the current sectoral developments in the last quarter.
A presentation was made about the preliminary results of the work of the Chemical Industry Workgroup organized within the framework of the preparations of the 12th Development Plan.
Turkish Chemical Industrialists' Association (TKSD) President Haluk Erceber, Member of the Turkish Chemical Industry Council, made evaluations about the foreign trade of the sector.
