At the meeting, where the topic of expectations from the sector related to the disaster zone was the only agenda item, the Council Members gave information about the developments in the disaster zone.

Özer Matlı wished mercy from Allah to our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake that affected our 11 provinces, including Kahramanmaraş, which took place on February 6, 2023, and deeply shook our country, and extended condolences to the survivors, and talked about the problem of permanent housing and the importance of the agricultural sector to recover as soon as possible.

Council President Ülkü Karakuş talked about the importance of prioritizing agricultural products such as corn, wheat, barley and cotton, which are waiting in a passive state in the region, and emphasized the need for large stakeholders to work in a coordinated manner in order for the people of the region to participate in commercial life again.

Ahmet Åženiz Melek, a council member operating in Hatay, underlined that action should be taken as soon as possible in order for the agricultural facilities in the region to continue their activities.
