Türkiye Technology Meetings at TOBB

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Technology Meetings were held at TOBB Twin Towers under the auspices of TOBB in cooperation with the E-commerce Center and the Association of Women in Technology (Wtech). The 86th stop of Türkiye’s most influential event chain is Ankara, and this year’s main topic of the event was ‘Digital Affairs’.​

The first session of the “Türkiye Technology Meetings” event was held with the panel “Shrinking World with Cross-Border E-commerce”. The panel was held at TOBB Twin Towers under the moderation of Ecommerce Center Senior Manager Merter Özdemir.

Zehra Öney, President of the Association of Women in Technology, said in her opening speech that all kinds of issues needed by companies in the field of technology will be addressed within the scope of the event. Stating that they are also working to heal the wounds of the earthquakes that occurred on February 6 in Kahramanmaraş, Öney explained the work they have done for young people and children in the earthquake regions.

Öney said that despite the negative effects of the earthquake, Türkiye continues to progress towards becoming a regional and global leader. Noting that the current times necessitate digitalization and globalization, Öney said that they are working to make Türkiye a complete smart technology society. Öney stated that they have trained 3,500 young experts in technology so far in the trainings they have organized in this context, adding that they have brought 93 percent of this number to employment.

Within the scope of the event, 25 speakers made presentations in 3 panels under the topics such as e-Commerce and e-Export, digitalization, metaverse, NFT, blockchain.
