TOBB Türkiye Medical Council met with TİTCK President Asım Hocaoğlu and his team

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Medical Council Meeting was held in Ankara under the chairmanship of Cengiz Delibaş, Deputy Secretary General of TOBB, Dr. Asım Hocaoğlu, President of the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), Dr. Mehmet Hakan Fırat, Vice President of TİTCK, Fatih Topuz, Head of the Department of Medical Device Notified Body and Clinical Trials at TİTCK, Ömer Faruk Kuru, Head of Medical Device Registration and Coordination Department of TİTCK, Servet Sarıhan, Head of Medical Device Sectoral Services Department of TİTCK, Yücel Dener, Head of Medical Device Inspection Department of TİTCK, and Levent Mete Özgürbüz, President of the Council, with the participation of representatives from the public, non-governmental organizations and the private sector.​
Council President Levent Mete Özgürbüz started his opening speech by thanking Asım Hocaoğlu and his team for their participation and support to the sector. He expressed his wishes to work and progress with the same momentum in the new period in this meeting, where what can be done regarding opportunities and threats, what the communication strategy should be in the new period and the priorities of the sector, and left the floor to Asım Hocaoğlu, President of TİTCK.
In his opening speech, Asım Hocaoğlu, President of TİTCK, expressed his pleasure to be together with the TOBB Türkiye Medical Council. He emphasized the importance of the Councils as they create an environment where all stakeholders express their views, where consultation is held and in this sense, the general requirements of a public common mind are put forward, and the steps that will carry the sector forward with the common public output are expressed together, and the public sector can listen to the private sector. Stating that they are working on a harmonious integration into the global market and access to profitable markets, Hocaoğlu concluded his words by emphasizing that artificial intelligence and competitiveness will come to the fore for the future of the sector.
Cengiz Delibaş, Deputy Secretary General of TOBB, started his speech by stating that the sector is very valuable both economically and for the society. Emphasizing that this sector, which carries the health system in Türkiye to important places, will be even more successful in terms of supply and export, Delibaş concluded his speech by thanking Asım Hocaoğlu for his participation and support.
During the meeting, consultations were held on the problems experienced in the reimbursement processes, the MDR issue, the Regulation on Technical Service Services of Medical Devices Used in the Scope of Health Service Delivery, the creation of the Sector Report, production, exports, increasing the budget allocated to the health sector, and the enactment of the Regulation on Medical Device Sales, Advertising and Promotion.
The meeting was concluded with an evaluation between the Council Members and public representatives.
