Under the leadership of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, Adana Chamber of Industry, Aydın Chamber of Commerce, Eskişehir Chamber of Industry and Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the ongoing “Business Dialogue Platform Establishment Project between Southeast Asian Union Member Countries (ASEAN) and Türkiye” includes many activities such as the preparation of foreign trade reports, foreign trade trainings, B2B activities.
Within the scope of the project, country meetings are organized to discuss the target country and Türkiye's foreign trade, to introduce the country to the participants, and to tell the Chamber Members the tips of trading and investing in the target country.
Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia and Laos are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), headquartered in Jakarta and founded in 1967. The project aims to promote mutual trade and investment opportunities between ASEAN member countries and the project provinces and to create a sustainable structure to enhance economic, social-cultural dialogue and integration.
In this context, country meetings started with Singapore on March 30, 2023. On Friday, July 21, the Indonesia Country Meeting, held online via zoom, started with the opening speeches of Agus Nuruddin, Head of Bilateral Committees Department of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Rahma Lestari Anggraini, representative of the ASEAN Secretariat. Following the project presentation, Mr. Burak Avcı, Commercial Counselor at the Embassy in Jakarta, made a presentation on general information about Indonesia, Indonesia's economic indicators, Türkiye-Indonesia Foreign Trade and the issues to be considered in the market. In the presentation made by Agus Nuruddin, Head of Bilateral Committees Department of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, investment projects in Indonesia were discussed.
A panel discussion on the Food and Beverage Sector in Türkiye and Indonesia was also organized during the meeting. In the panel held with the participation of İpek İşbitiren, Secretary General of Turkish Fruit Juice Industry Association, Mr. Adhi S.Lukman, President of Indonesia Food and Beverage Industry Association and Mr. Iwan Winardi, Head of International Cooperation Department of Indonesia Food and Beverage Industry Association, networking and consultancy connections that will benefit the members of 365 Chambers and Commodity Exchanges across Türkiye, especially the members of Aydın Chamber of Commerce, Adana Chamber of Industry, Eskişehir Chamber of Industry and Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, were shared and the questions of the participants were answered.
