Key road transport issues discussed in Brussels

The Commission on Social Affairs (CAS) meeting, where practices for the road transport sector were discussed by the members of the Commission on Social Affairs (CAS) of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), was held in Brussels/Belgium on September 6th, 2023.​
In the said meeting, which was attended by the Digital Tachograph Directorate of the Department of Transportation and Logistics Systems on behalf of our Union, issues related to driver absence, working-rest periods, especially the regulations regarding the smart tachograph application were evaluated.
The organization was accompanied by a session on the effects of digitalization on road transport. The session was followed by a demonstration of smart tachograph version 2, one of the benefits of digitalization, which is vital for the efficiency of road transport.
