In his opening speech, TOBB Board Member Zeki Kıvanç mentioned the importance of discussing the problems of the sector under the roof of TOBB and that all the problems mentioned are followed up. Mr. Kıvanç also conveyed his thanks to the Council Members who supported the REWA Anatolia, Recycling and Waste Management Fair organized in Adana in February.

Ender Yorgancılar, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), talked about the importance of access to waste and emphasized that the waste collected is a raw material. Yorgancılar also emphasized the importance of reducing informality in the sector and underlined the work of the Council in this regard.

Council President Ali Kantur informed the Council Members about the activities carried out since the last Council meeting.

At the meeting, A. Saygın Baban, Head of TOBB Sectors and Entrepreneurship Department and Founding General Manager of TOBB MEYBEM Vocational Qualification and Certification Centers A.Ş., made an informative presentation on MEYBEM's activities in the field of waste.

In the second agenda item, with the participation of Mustafa Kemal Günay, Head of TOBB Real Sector Research Development and Implementation Department, the Council's work on capacity criteria drafts was evaluated.

The meeting ended with information about the TOBB Sectoral Economic Council to be held on February 29, 2024 with the participation of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.
