The program, which received more than 100 applications from 28 cities, aims to help the growth of startups operating in different technology fields and offering solutions to problems related to disasters, to introduce them to investors, to bring the selected startups together with the stakeholders of our country's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and to create social benefit, and details can be found at https://afetcozum.tobb.org.tr/.
After approximately 2 months of training, guidance and mentoring, 21 of our companies made it to the finals and had the chance to speak directly to officials from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye, Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization, Military Electronics Industry (ASELSAN), Hava Elektronik Sanayi ve Tic. A.Ş. (HAVELSAN) and İş Bank officials.
In her opening remarks, Gabrielle Price, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the United States of America in Ankara, expressed her thanks to TOBB Board of Directors for hosting such an organization. TOBB Board Member Mehmet Tuncay Yıldırım, who took the floor after Gabrielle Price, stated that the starting point of the program was the earthquake disaster on February 6, 2023, and stated that TOBB has mobilized all its means with 365 Chambers and Commodity Exchanges and will continue to do so.
