TOBB Board Member Cengiz Günay conveyed the greetings of TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and stated that every problem of the cosmetics and cleaning products sector, which is of great importance for public health, is closely monitored.

Council President Ahmet Pura expressed his thanks to the Council Members who convened with an intensive agenda, and stated that they are a sector that carries out good works in cooperation with the public.

The meeting, which started with information about various meetings and conferences held recently and emphasizing international developments, continued with the discussion of the agenda item titled Evaluation on Biocidal Products Legislation and Practices. Council Member Pınar Karabulut expressed the problems experienced in the use of cosmetic-like claims in biocidal products. The issues were transferred to Sevda Nur Yüksel, Head of the Cosmetic Products Department of the Turkish Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), and consultations were held.

Providing information on the “Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals,” Council Member Sevim Gürgen mentioned the latest developments in the world on the subject.

Nilgün Dayıoğlugil shared information on the legislative developments in the cosmetic product sector with the Council Members and public representatives. She expressed the problems faced by the sector regarding the paid notifications in the Product Tracking System (ÜTS). Sevda Nur Yüksel, Head of the Cosmetic Products Department of TİTCK, answered questions on the subject.

Making an assessment on Medical Devices Legislation and Practices, Council Member Kübra Doğan expressed the problems of the sector regarding the Circular on Medical Devices.

Change of Office in Parliament

Following the evaluation of the agenda items, the meeting was concluded with the election of the Vice Presidency of the Council. Nilgün Dayıoğlugil, Technical Regulation Director of Avon Kozmetik A.Ş., was unanimously elected as Vice President of the Council, while Sibel Tüzün became the Advisor to the Council.
