Saim Özakalın, who made the opening speech of the meeting, stated that the Ministry has a more moderate approach to the issues of “Forest Products Sales Systems” and “Forest Commodity Classification” on the agenda and wished the council to continue its work actively.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that forest products sales systems should be negotiated by the members of the Council together with the General Directorate of Forestry. In this context, the members of the Council, who expressed the opinion that a more stable system should be established by focusing on the effects and maturities of wood raw material price fluctuations, expressed that they are always ready to contribute to the General Directorate of Forestry.

How the 12^th Development Plan covering the years 2024-2028 will be shaped in terms of the forestry sector and the distribution of duties of the Council members in the preparation of the plan were also discussed.

In the last part of the meeting, suggestions and wishes of the Council members were tabled.
