Waste and Recycling Industry Council evaluated current developments

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Waste and Recycling Industry Council meeting; With the participation of TOBB Board Member Zeki Kıvanç, the meeting was held at Ankara Union Center with the participation of sector representatives under the chairmanship of Council President Ali Kantur.​

In his opening speech, TOBB Board Member Zeki Kıvanç gave information about the activities carried out since the last Council meeting. Kıvanç stated that as TOBB, they are always with the sector in solving the problems.


In his opening speech, Ali Kantur, Chairman of the Council, informed that the current issues of the sector were followed up, transferred to the relevant institutions, meetings were held with all relevant Ministries regarding the issues on the agenda and important steps were taken to solve some of them.


In the first agenda item of the meeting, information was provided on the “Investment Process Guide” prepared by the Presidential Investment Office. The representatives of the Investment Office of the Presidency pointed out that the update work has been completed as of April, and shared with the participants that in the next phase, they will follow a road map to identify the issues to be simplified in the guide with the contributions of sector representatives and then to implement them through responsible institutions.


In the second agenda item, a presentation titled “Türkiye Environmental Labeling System” was made by the Environmental Management System and Environmental Labeling Branch Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.


Subsequently, the problems experienced by the companies in the sector in terms of insurance processes were discussed with the Members of the Council.


In the fourth agenda item, with the participation of representatives of the TOBB Industry Directorate, the Council's work on capacity criteria drafts and the road map to be followed from now on were evaluated.


The meeting ended with a discussion of current developments and problems in the sector.
