Sector-Integrated School Model comes to life in Simav for the first time

10.12.2024 /

An important step has been taken to strengthen vocational education in Türkiye and to bring young people together with a sector-integrated education model. A cooperation protocol was signed between the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Vocational Education Board and Simav Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Şeref Kazcıoğlu and Ministry of National Education (MEB) General Director of Vocational and Technical Education Ali Karagöz.

With the protocol signed, the “Sector Integrated School” model, which is a first in Türkiye, will be implemented in Simav. In this context, the school, which will operate under the name of “Şeref Kazcıoğlu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School,” will offer an exemplary model that brings together education and production.

- Direct Employment Opportunities for Young People

Within the scope of the protocol, students will complete their education processes in an environment directly integrated with the production lines of enterprises. In this way, students will both improve their professional knowledge and skills and will have the opportunity to be employed quickly in the sector after graduation.

This important cooperation, which started in Simav, will set an example for other regions across Türkiye in the future. This project, which aims to train qualified manpower in education, will support economic development by building a bridge between industry and vocational education.

This important cooperation will ensure that young people receive vocational training in line with current industrial needs, while facilitating the sector’s access to qualified labor. A new era begins in vocational education with the project implemented under the leadership of MoNE and TOBB.

This successful example is intended to inspire businesses across Türkiye. Increasing cooperation between industry and education is one of the cornerstones of our country’s economic development. As TOBB, we invite all industrial organizations and businesses to support vocational education with sector-integrated and in-sector school models. Thanks to such projects, both the sectors’ need for qualified labor force will be met and our young people will be better equipped and prepared for the future with employment guarantees. The contribution of our sector representatives to vocational education by embracing this opportunity will further strengthen the production power and competitive advantage of our country.
