Speaking at the program held at the TOBB Conference Hall, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated that they want cooperatives to ensure their institutional structures and said, “We will give extra extra support to those who do this. After a while, we will withdraw our support from cooperatives that do not provide this.”

In his speech, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat reminded that there are approximately 49,000 cooperatives in Türkiye and noted that the data of approximately 4.5 million cooperative members out of more than 6 million cooperative members have been successfully transferred to the Cooperative Information System (KOOPBIS).

Muammer Niksarlı, President of the Union of Cooperatives of Türkiye, and Abdülkadir Akgül, President of the Central Union of Credit and Surety Cooperatives of Tradesmen and Craftsmen of Türkiye (TESKOMB), also pointed to the need to establish supreme organizations for cooperatives.
