In his opening speech, Ahmet Akyol, President of the Council, gave information about the current issues on the agenda of the defense industry sector, and hoped that the information to be provided at this meeting would be instrumental in strengthening cooperation and opportunities.

TOBB Board Member Seyit Ardıç emphasized the increase in the localization rate of the defense industry sector and congratulated the sector representatives. Ardıç concluded his speech by emphasizing the importance of cooperation to support domestic production and technological development.

TOBB Board Member Mehmet Büyüksimitci shared export data and talked about the importance of the defense industry sector for our country. Büyüksimitci concluded his speech by saying, “As TOBB, we are ready to fulfill all our responsibilities in order for our country to produce and innovate at world standards in the defense industry sector.”

Following the opening speeches at the meeting, Dr. Cangül Tosun, Head of Strategic Research and Planning Department of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, presented the 2030 Industry and Technology Strategy; Erbülent Kurşun, Deputy General Director of Export and Belkıs Gürsel, Deputy General Director of Import, Ministry of Trade, presented the New Customs Tariffs and Their Effects on the Defense Industry; and Bülent Özcan, Director General of Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs, presented the European Union Funds and ReArm Europe agenda items and held consultations.

The meeting was concluded with the presentation made by Muttalip Tütüncü, Project Manager of the Presidential Investment Office.
