Türkiye Mining Council Executive Board Elections

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Mining Council meeting convened under the chairmanship of TOBB Board Member Şaban A. Karamehmetoğlu to elect the Council Executive Board.​

In his opening remarks, Şaban A. Karamehmetoğlu emphasized that the Türkiye Mining Council, with its integrated structure encompassing all relevant parties in the sector, is the most important meeting point for public institutions and organizations, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.

During the agenda, İbrahim Halil Kırşan, Chairman of the Executive Board of Çiftay İnş.Taah ve Tic A.Ş., who ran as the sole candidate for the Council Presidency, and Ramazan Yön, CEO of Demir Export A.Ş., who ran for the Council Vice Presidency, were elected unanimously.

In his speech, Assembly President İbrahim Halil Kırşan emphasized that the sector assembly would continue to increase its activities and expressed his hope that the new term would be beneficial for everyone.

Following the election of the Presidency Council, representatives from public institutions and organizations attended, including Arslan Narin, General Manager of Mining and Petroleum Affairs; Mehmet Ali Özen, Deputy General Manager; Abdullah Çiftçi, General Manager of Turkish Coal Enterprises; Vedat Yanık, General Manager of Mining Exploration and Research; Fatih Ekmekçi, General Manager of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permits, and Inspection; Gürsel Erul, Deputy General Manager of Environmental Management; Deputy General Manager of Eti Mining Operations Emin Türk, Head of the Permits and Concessions Department of the General Directorate of Forestry Aytunç Nane, and Head of the Geotechnical Services Department of the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works Dr. Ayhan Koçbay.

The meeting concluded with members expressing their good wishes for the new term.
