Taxonomy and green transformation issues for the cement sector discussed at TOBB

The Taxonomy and Green Transition Consultation Meeting for the cement sector was held at the Ankara Union Center, hosted by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), with the participation of the Climate Change Presidency, the Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye, and sector representatives.​
The meeting was attended by TOBB Türkiye Cement and Cement Products Council Vice President Volkan Bozay, Climate Change Presidency Climate Finance and Incentives Department Head Mürsel Akbulut, Climate Change Presidency Technology and Green Transformation Department Head Dr. Veysel Selimoğlu, and Turkish Development and Investment Bank Deputy General Manager Seçil Yıldız.
The meeting’s first agenda item featured a presentation by the Climate Change Presidency’s Climate Finance and Incentives Department on the work being carried out specifically on taxonomy and the current situation. Participants discussed general assessments of taxonomy applications and how the process would take shape in Türkiye from the perspective of the cement sector.
In the second part of the meeting, information was provided on the work carried out by the Climate Change Presidency’s Technology and Green Transformation Department.
Subsequently, the financial support provided to the sector by the Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye within the scope of green transformation was shared with the participants.
The meeting concluded after the participants’ views and suggestions were heard.
