Türkiye Mining Council Meeting

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Mining Council convened under the chairmanship of Council President İbrahim Halil Kırşan, with the participation of Şaban A. Karamehmetoğlu, the TOBB Board Member responsible for the Council, and Fatih Ekmekçi, General Director of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permits, and Inspection.​
In his opening remarks, Şaban A. Karamehmetoğlu noted that the Council’s comprehensive structure is of great value to the sector and emphasized the importance of addressing the mining sector’s current issues and proposed solutions promptly.
The meeting, attended by high-ranking officials from the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs and the General Directorate of EIA, drew significant interest from Council members active in various sectors of the mining industry across different provinces of Türkiye.
During the meeting, where consultations were held regarding the Environmental Law Amendment, the EIA Regulation, and the EIA Regulation Implementation Circular, Assembly Members had the opportunity to voice the challenges they were facing.
