The Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry conducted a seminar on the 23rd of June, 2011 on the advance declaration, which has become mandatory for exports and imports in the EU, system provided free of charge by TIR-EPD.​

80 companies representing importers and exporters to the EU from Turkey attended the seminar. The meeting provided information on the EU Import-Export Electronic Summary Declaration system, IRU TIR EPD system’s benefits, instructions and statistics of use as well as ways to apply to the system. The TIR-EPD service, provided free of charge by IRU, is in use in 14 European countries.
