TOBB Turkey Ceramic and Refractor Industry Council President Zeynep Bodur Okyay introduced the “Emission Control Project”, planned to decrease the greenhouse effect by lowering the emission compounds released into the atmosphere by the industry, and the “Increasing Energy Efficiency in Industry Project” aimed at reducing the energy usage by 50% in industry, resulting in both economical and environmental benefit.
TOBB Turkey Ceramic and Refractor Industry Council convened in Istanbul with Okyay presiding. The problems and solutions for the sector were discussed as well as the subject of stimulus. Foreign Trade Undersecretariat representative made a presentation detailing the ceramic sector’s foreign trade figures and the stimulus provided to the private sector.TOBB Turkey Ceramic and Refractor Industry Council President Okyay introduced the “Emission Control Project”, planned to decrease the greenhouse effect by lowering the emission compounds released into the atmosphere by the industry, and the “Increasing Energy Efficiency in Industry Project” aimed at reducing the energy usage by 50% in industry, resulting in both economical and environmental benefit.TOBB Turkey Ceramic and Refractor Industry Council Vice President Germiyan Saatçioğlu briefed the council members on the “Research for SMBs’ Benefit Program” aimed at bringing industrialists of the sector together with universities and research centers in order to fulfill their R&D needs.Saatçioğlu assessed the results of the UNICERA Ceramic and Bathroom Fair and provided information on the SERES International Ceramics, Glass, Enamel, Glazing and Pigment Congress to be held between October 10th and 12th, and the World Ceramic Tile Manufacturers meeting to be held in Mexico between October 17th and 21st.In closing, it was decided that a commission for “Materials”, “Foreign Trade and Sector Performance”, “Efficient Use of Resources” and “Environment and Energy” would be established and that members would be decided at the next meeting
