Speaking at the Turkish-Polish Business Forum, Çağlar reported that the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey are continuing to work together very closely.
Stating that he believes cooperation protocols between the two countries will further strengthen this bilateral trade, Çağlar said that the work will progress much more smoothly.
Çağlar went on to make assessments on the bilateral trade between the Turkey and Poland, providing information on Turkish economy as well as speaking in regards to the developments expected to take place in the European economy in the coming years.
Stating that Poland, as Turkey’s largest trading partner in Central Europe, offers significant business opportunities for Turkish investors and entrepreneurs in regards to qualified workforce, attractive market size, strong industrial infrastructure and logistical advantages, Çağlar stressed the importance of free movement of entrepreneurs between the two countries.
Reminding that the Turkish-Polish Business Council is ready to help Polish entrepreneurs do business in Turkey, Çağlar expressed his conviction that the meeting will greatly benefit the development and diversification of economic relations between the countries.
Polish Chamber of Commerce President Jerzy Drozdz stated that developing the budding trade relations between the two countries is the duty of both countries and that important advances have been made in this regard.
Drozdz stated that the point which we’ve come to at present does not represent the full potential for bilateral trade between Turkey and Poland, going on to say that there is quite a ways to go yet.
Drozdz drew attention to the importance of young population of both countries in regards to the establishment of new business as well as cooperation between countries for innovation-based production.
The President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gül pointed out that the Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski’s Turkey state visit coincides with the 600th anniversary of Turkey’s establishment of diplomatic relations with Poland.
President Gül spoke in regards to the historical friendship between the two nations, going on to assess the relations between the two countries with a focus on the relationship’s economic facet.
He said, “We are here among you to show just how strong the political will of the two countries is for developing relations and show that much more can be achieved.”
President of Poland, Bronislaw Komorowski stated that they support lifting of visas between the two countries and that they’ve met with the President Gül and various ministers to this end.
Emphasizing the importance of economic relations on the eve of the 600th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, President Komorowski stated that even if the political, military and cultural relations are at their apex between the two countries and that economic relations must always be taken into consideration when making assessment of international relations.
Stating that Poland has overcome the crisis better in comparison to other European countries, Komorowski said that they have attained a qualified workforce thanks to the success of their education system while also stating that Turkey has achieved important progress in this field as well.
