Also attending the gala dinner held in cooperation by the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the UN Global Compact Turkey Network were UN Resident Coordinator Kamal Malhotra, Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Şerafettin Aşut and TOBB Board Member Şahin Bilgiç.

In his speech, TOBB Council Board Member Şahin Bilgiç spoke in regards to the activities of the organization, providing information.

Also touching on the matter of other projects such as the Jerusalem Arbitration Center, the Middle East Trade Center as well as the efforts of the many bilateral business councils in the region, Bilgiç ended with, “You, Business Council representatives have a great responsibility.”

Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Şerafettin Aşut stated during his speech that Mersin TSO had become party to the UN Global Compact in 2011, aiming to become a respectable, active and competitive part of the global economy, “We think that Business for Peace project will bring the private sector together in a global network and instill cooperation, and we support it as Mersin.”
