Free Zones Council discussed 'payment by TL' practice

TOBB Turkey Free Zones Council discussed the practice of payment using Turkish Lira in free zones. TOBB Turkey Free Trade Zones Council meeting was held with the participation of Uğur Öztürk, General Director of the Ministry of Economy, Free Zones, Foreign Investment and Services, under the chairmanship of the Council Chairman Edvar Mum.​

The Decision of the Council of Ministers on the payments to be made with the Turkish Lira in the Free Zones No 2017/10051, which was published in the Official Gazette dated May 11, 2011 and numbered 30063, was discussed. Referring to the problems that may be faced in the future, the members of the council said that both the regional operators and the users will have problems in trade. It is also emphasized that foreign companies are already hesitant to choose free zones in our country.
