Giving the General Assembly's opening speech, TOBB Vice Chairman Halim Mete, noting that there are developments of historical proportion for the ICC as it has been granted official observer status on December 13, 2016, by the United Nations Council.

Stating that ICC Turkey is one of the most well-established ICC National Committees, in operation for over 80 years, Mete said, “ICC Turkey National Committee, as it has been in past years, with the support of its members, will continue to represent our country through seminars on matters within the ICC's activities, conferences and training.”

ICC Turkey National Committee Vice Chairman Faik Yavuz's presented the financial report, followed by well wishes and requests, ending the session.
