TOBB guarantees 100.000 Euro per TIR Carnets for TIR shipping

TOBB increased its support to the transport sector. TOBB, which previously reduced assurances of road carriers to the TIR system, also increased the TIR Carnets collateral limits to 100,000 Euros.​

The work was carried out by TOBB, the Ministry of Customs and Trade and the International Road Transport Association (IRU) to increase the amount of TIR Carnets collateral within the Turkish borders.


Under the new agreement between the TOBB and the Ministry of Customs and Commerce, the guarantee for each TIR Carnets has been increased to EUR 100,000 as of July 1st, 2017.


TOBB will take on a security risk of approximately 35bn Euros per year in the transport sector with the new agreement.


Additionally, the surety limit has been raised to 100,000 Euros in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Spain and Ukraine, it is to be matched in other EU members.
