Nurhan Tüfekçioğlu, Deputy Director General of Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications (UDHB), UDHB Branch Director Tümer Tutar, Chief Executive Officer Fatih Şener, Pekin Trade Consultant İlker Özdem and TOBB officials represented the Turkish delegation at the meeting.
At the technical meeting the types and quotas of transit documents required for the commencement of transportation between two countries with the beginning of 2018 were decided. A quota of 20,000 bilateral / transit and 10,000 third country transit permits, with a total of 30,000 quotas were agreed upon.
It was also decided that a joint seminar would be held for the introduction of the transit document and the TIR System applications and the introduction of the logistics centers in the Xinjiang autonomous region in November 2017 with the participation of relevant public and private sector representatives in order to increase transport and trade development and cooperation.
Also in the talks, TOBB’s call for the People's Republic of China’s implementation of the TIR System as soon as possible was reiterated.
