Remarking the topic which was also prior agenda item, professional competences Council President Sayın told that they were having difficulties for obtaining qualified employers in glass sector as well as experiencing similar difficulties with education, personel trainings, and schools, also underlined the importance of certification of the employers.

MEYBEM Quality Management Representative Yasemin Tezer, presenting a brief about MEYBEM (Professional Competence and Certification A.Ş.) formed within TOBB, also made a presentation informing about national occupational standard, obligation of professional competence certificate, incentives, procedures and principles.

Also referring to the gains that employees shall obtained as a result of certification of the employees, Tezer also by answering the questions of the members, told that currently within the glass sector there are 4 standards available, by leaguing together and work on this subjects with the stake holders competences would be able to be determined.

Members, agreeing on 2018 would a difficult year, stated that demand was not so  bad but geopolitical problems would drag the sector to bottleneck and then possible requests for class sectors that could be forwarded also discussed as well as apparent treats in relation with ixport class products.

Pointing out the protection measures for importation, council members, by consulting for how they could approach to Russian and Iran markets, underlined the importance of precautionary steps to be taken for prevention of unfair competition on matter such as energy costs, state incentives etc.
