First good news of Turkey’s “100% domestic and national production efforts,” underway comes from the production of turbines utilized in hydro power plants (HPP). turbines installed to generate electricity in hydroelectric power plants built in Turkey until now, were taken abroad. As a part of the, “Domestic Design and Production of Hydro of Power Plant Components (MİLHES) Project” launched in 2015, for the first time in Turkey, fitting model for the hydroelectric turbine, which will be installed on Antalya-Duden Stream Kepez-1 dam, has been produced and tested.

The new equipment, fully manufactured in Turkey, will be installed in the power plant over the coming months. As of October, 2018, Kepez-1 is planned to start generating electricity again with all new domestic hydraulic equipment.
