Every two years, EUROCHAMBRES, with the cooperation of the European Parliament, brings together European companies to discuss the leading economic issues, paving the way for the EU's companies and develops entrepreneurship and single market based on EU standards. The necessity of being a Union that invests in innovation, presents an exciting future for young people and strongly demonstrates its leadership position was emphasized.
TOBB Board Member Hakan highlighted the visa and non-tariff barriers to doing business with its partners in the EU parliament faced by Turkish companies and SMEs and offered their suggestions for solving these problems; TOBB European Women's Network President Mülkiye Aytur also stated that Turkey should not be pushed into the background for EU’s enlargement policy.
The strong positive response to the question of “Should the EU strengthen its business contacts with other countries to result in membership?” (300 in favor out of 425), revealed that the issues raised by the TOBB delegation were viewed with great importance.
Attending the session were the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, Brexit Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier and European Commission Member for Trade Cecilia Malmström who also gave speeches.
