Speaking at the opening of the summit, TOBB Vice Chairman Ali Kopuz said that the world had to learn lessons from past mistakes and everyone has responsibilities in achieving global peace and stability.

Extending the greetings of TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Ali Kopuz said, “TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu extends his wishes for the 9^th Bosphorus Summit to benefit all parties. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization of this summit.”

Ali Kopuz stated that peace and development are like two halves of the same apple. Because peace brings tranquility. Peace of mind increases trade. Increased trade means prosperity and development. Those involved in trade don't talk war or see others in bad light. Therefore, the development of trade between countries is the shortest way to global peace.”
