Visiting a grieving victim in Erciş to present their condolences, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Call to Unity Platform representatives were overcome by the stoicism and prudence of the survivor.

The elder, who had lost his wife, 2 children, 2 daughters-in-law and a grandchild to the quake, stated that Allah has reclaimed his charges, and said, “My wife has died. My two sons, their brides and one of my grandchildren have died. Allah granted us grace and has now reclaimed it. We have returned our charges to Him. There can be no betrayal of trust regarding these charges. The guests I was hosting have also died. Allah bless you and the state. They have cleared the debris. We miss some things but that is not the fault of the state. The rescue teams have worked without sleep nonstop for 4 days with great devotion. I am as grateful as there are leaves on trees.”

- “Provocation” warning from grieving quake victim

Talking to quake victims in the region, Hisarcıklıoğlu and those accompanying him were told by one survivor that provocations regarding aid and assistance rendered to the region by the state. Stating that the government has shown no lack of effort to help those affected, the citizen said that some rumors that in circulation did not reflect the majority of the citizens in Erciş.

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they would stand shoulder to shoulder with the survivors. Hisarcıklıoğlu spoke with each and every citizen he met during the visit and inquired as to what their needs were. Hisarcıklıoğlu conveyed his condolences and well wishes.
