TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Call to Unity Platform members made assessments of the damaged buildings in the county and spoke with the victims.

Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the tent compound set up in the stadium.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu inquired as to the needs of the victims. Conveying his well wishes and listening to the troubles of the victims, Hisarcıklıoğlu promised to address the needs mentioned to him as soon as possible.

- “Tents are a priority”

Turkish Red Crescent General Director Ömer Taşlı, informing Hisarcıklıoğlu, told him that the Red Crescent’s role is to provide food and shelter.

Stating that Red Crescent teams reached the disaster zone 6 hours after the quake, Taşlı said that there was no shortage of blood for transfusions, medical attention or ambulances.

Stating that the rumors of pillaging of the aid sent to Van do not reflect reality, Taşlı said “It would be a mistake to attribute the obscenity of a few to all citizens of Van. 70% of all necessities of the quake victims have been provided. Aid will continue in an organized manner from here on out. The priority need is tents.”

Taşlı stated that 2,300 Mevlana houses would be sent to township which suffered from the quake.

Hisarcıklıoğlu later made assessments in the area of demolished buildings in Erciş. Visiting the Erciş Crisis Center, Hisarcıklıoğlu was briefed regarding the situation in the region. TOBB President and the members of the Call to Unity Platform traveled to Van once the assessments were complete.
