Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the summit brings together the economic and social councils, employees, employers, shopkeepers, agriculturalists and other groups in Europe and Mediterranean.

Stating that they were attending the summit as the economic and social councils of the European countries in the Mediterranean, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The most important point of this is that while Europe is talking about economic crisis and the south shore of the Mediterranean talks about political crisis, it is very meaningful that the summit is being held here in Istanbul.”

Providing information regarding the World Turkish Entrepreneurs Congress (DTİK) which will take place in Istanbul on the 18th and 19th of November, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The Turkish Diaspora, around 2200 Turkish entrepreneurs will come together in this summit. It is held bi-annually. In accordance with the mission DEİK has been given by the Prime Minister along with the Ministry of Economy, we will bring together around 2200 Turkish diaspora together to work together more effectively in the countries they are living in.”

Emphasizing that they have started an aid campaign for the Van earthquake victims and that they’ve consolidated these under four headings, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “One, emergency necessities. Two, 25 million TL from the Chambers Union resources transferred to Turkey İş Bank to be used zero-interest, 6 month no payment, 18 month duration credit. The third one is the aid campaign we started with 142 civil society and profession organizations. Each organization will conduct its own campaign and we will pool the results.”
