Celal Talabani, President of Iraq, invited the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchnages of Turkey (TOBB) to Iraq, stating that they demand more investment from Turkey. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) and TOBB, told about the bilateral meetings he made with Pakistan's president, Asif Ali Zerdari, Kırghizistan’s President, Roza Ottunbayeva and with Tayland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kasit Piromiya, within the framework of their visit to Turkey on the occasion of 12th ECO Head of States Summit.

Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded that the trade volume between the two countries and the investment of Turkish companies increased in that region, indicating 600 Turkish companies made business valuing at 8 billion dollars and that the two airports in Suleymaniah and Erbil were constructed by Turkish companies.
 
 
Moreover, he added that the university in Suleymaniah was also constructed by Turkish companies, saying a substantial number of cement factories is being renewed by Turkish companies.
 
 
Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu said that Celal Talabani, President of Iraq, invited TOBB to Iraq for more investment in Erbil, Suleymaniah, Mosul, Kirkuk, Basra and Baghdad.
 
 
 
saying that TOBB will consider this invitatation, Hisarcıklıoğlu mentioned "we are glad with the invitation. We will make the necessary preperations. In 2004, as TOBB, we want to Baghdad to meet the urgent needs of Iraqi people not considering the hard situation of the mentioned term.
 
 
we give greqat importance to the normalization of Iraq. We modernized Habur Border Gate.However, our trucks cannot go to wouth of Zaho due to security reason. Our turcks should carry the goods safely to Baghdat, Basra and Necef. There are still security concerns in this regard."
 
 
-President of Pakistan proposed a railway company
 
 
M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded that during their meeting President of Pakistan Mr. Zerdari thanked TOBB for their donation on the occasion of flood disaster.
 
 
In addition to this, Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu indicated the importance of constructing and renowating the railway starting from Turkey through Pakistan to India and said Zerdari, proposed establishment of a v joint railway company. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, Zerdari mentioned the stocks of this company might be sold in stock exchanges starting from Istanbul Stock Exchange. Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed the fact that they agrred fpr a feasibility study.
 
 
-Kyrgyzstan is waiting for Turkey’s support for OIZs
 
 
Regarding his meeting with Reza Ottunbayeva, President of Kyrgyzstan, Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu said that he gave information about alternative routes and introduced the Revival of Silk Roday Project, introducing 4 new routes and stating that they work in cooperation of International Road Transport Union (IRU) for this Project. He said: “ All cuntries should provide support for this revitalization Project.’’
 
 
He added they are ready to share their experience regarding this issue and that in Turkey there are 250 OIZs.
 
 
Mentioning the importance of improvement of free trade in Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) region, Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed the importance of application of ECO Trade Agreement (ECOTA).
 
 
He also said that Ottunbayeva demanded our support especially for industrial zones, stating that they want to make a breakthrough in information technology and techno-parks.
 
 
-Meeting with Tayland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs
 
 
President of TOBB and DEİK Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu, who also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tayland, said that the bilaretal relations between Turkey and Tayland are very low and that the representatives of business world of the two countries should know each other more. Furthermore, he added he wants to accelerate the organizational studies on Turkish-Tayland Business Council and he received information regarding the counterpart organizaton of the business council.
 
 
-Meeting with the Vice-President of Turkmenistan
 
 
Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu, who is also the President of Economic Cooperation Organization Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECO CCI), met with the Vice-President of Turkmenistan and during the meeting, he informed Vice-President of Turkemistan about the modernization of Border Gates and Revival of Silk Road Project. He also stataed that the Revival of the Silk Road will provide new opportunities for the region and in this context, the countries should collaborate and prove the harmonization of the rules.
 
 
Vice President of turkmenistan gave information about railway projects in his country.
 
 
-“Turkey exports stability and prosperity to its region’’
 
 
Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB and DEİK, stated: “Economic Cooperation Organization Summit, organized under the leadership of President Abdullah Gül and brought together the Central Asian Middle Eastern Countries, showed that Turkey's getting stronger has a major impact to the geography it is in.’’ Ha said Turkey becomes a center of attraction with its improving democracy and economy, which expands without natural resources.
