Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded that the trade volume between the two countries and the investment of Turkish companies increased in that region, indicating 600 Turkish companies made business valuing at 8 billion dollars and that the two airports in Suleymaniah and Erbil were constructed by Turkish companies.

Moreover, he added that the university in Suleymaniah was also constructed by Turkish companies, saying a substantial number of cement factories is being renewed by Turkish companies.

Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu said that Celal Talabani, President of Iraq, invited TOBB to Iraq for more investment in Erbil, Suleymaniah, Mosul, Kirkuk, Basra and Baghdad.

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded that during their meeting President of Pakistan Mr. Zerdari thanked TOBB for their donation on the occasion of flood disaster.

In addition to this, Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu indicated the importance of constructing and renowating the railway starting from Turkey through Pakistan to India and said Zerdari, proposed establishment of a v joint railway company. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, Zerdari mentioned the stocks of this company might be sold in stock exchanges starting from Istanbul Stock Exchange. Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed the fact that they agrred fpr a feasibility study.

Regarding his meeting with Reza Ottunbayeva, President of Kyrgyzstan, Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu said that he gave information about alternative routes and introduced the Revival of Silk Roday Project, introducing 4 new routes and stating that they work in cooperation of International Road Transport Union (IRU) for this Project. He said: “ All cuntries should provide support for this revitalization Project.’’

President of TOBB and DEİK Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu, who also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tayland, said that the bilaretal relations between Turkey and Tayland are very low and that the representatives of business world of the two countries should know each other more. Furthermore, he added he wants to accelerate the organizational studies on Turkish-Tayland Business Council and he received information regarding the counterpart organizaton of the business council.

Mr Hisarcıklıoğlu, who is also the President of Economic Cooperation Organization Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECO CCI), met with the Vice-President of Turkmenistan and during the meeting, he informed Vice-President of Turkemistan about the modernization of Border Gates and Revival of Silk Road Project. He also stataed that the Revival of the Silk Road will provide new opportunities for the region and in this context, the countries should collaborate and prove the harmonization of the rules.
