In his speech, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that he saw that everyone in Samsun acted in unity and solidarity which he found to be gratifying. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the city is in the process of a great change and said, “If you wish to be a brand-name city, the way to achieve it is through unity and solidarity.”

Stating that with the 56 million TL budget from the EU, an important step in making Samsun a logistics center has been taken, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the city’s shortage of hotels must be addressed as soon as possible. Touching on the constitution meeting they held in Samsun, TOBB President said, “We’ve come together with the organizations that represent the majority of the population. We’ve come together for the future of the country. I believe that this unity and solidarity will bring prosperity. We would rather learn what the people want instead of saying what we think. 2012 will be the year when the people craft their own constitution.”

Speaker of the National Assembly Cemil Çiçek stated that the new constitution would lend self-confidence to Turkish politics, saying, “This constitution will open new horizons for us.”

During the meeting Samsun TSO President Salih Zeki Mirzaoğlu stated that Samsun entices investors with its potential. Mirzaoğlu reported that the city with its 200 exporter firms markets their goods to 135 countries.

Samsun Mayor Hüseyin Aksoy provided information regarding Samsun’s economic structure and thanked the guests for their visit.

Hisarcıklıoğlu, Çiçek and Platform representatives toured the Amazonlar Holiday Resort after lunch.
