Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the Edirne TSO President Cemil Güler, Edirne TB President and TOBB Board Member Mustafa Yardımcı, Babaeski TSO President Sebahattin Öner, Babaeski TB President Fahrettin Özün, Lüleburgaz TSO President Naci Çarıkçı, Lüleburgaz TB President Kenan Var and Çorlu TSO President İsmail Güleroğlu and council members.

Stating that TOBB is celebrating its 60th anniversary and is a family with all of its chambers and exchanges, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the Union which started in a small office in Ankara has come all this way.

Emphasizing unity and solidarity during his visits, TOBB President stated that in order to become a brand name, a city must work together with its Assembly Representatives, municipality director, mayor, chamber and exchange presidents. Everyone may have their own views, stated Hisarcıklıoğlu, but said that when it comes to the city everyone should stand together.

Stating that with the new Turkish Trade Law (TTK), the rules of commerce will change, the TOBB President urged that the business world carefully study the new law and present their suggestions and criticisms as soon as possible.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they are holding meetings for the new constitution and emphasized that Turkey needs a new constitution.

TOBB President started his chamber and exchange visits in the Thrace Region in Edirne Commerce Exchange.

Hosted by the TOBB Board Member and Edirne Commerce Exchange President Mustafa Yardımcı, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it was heartening to see how far the Exchange had come and congratulated everyone who contributed to the process. Visiting the Edirne TSO next and thanked the region’s people and chamber presidents and directors for their show of unity.

Hisarcıklıoğlu conducted the opening of the Babaeski Commerce Exchange Service Building; he had also attended the laying of its foundation. Hisarcıklıoğlu thanked the Babaeski Commerce Exchange for conducting 2 EU projects. Hisarcıklıoğlu also drew attention to the importance of the ISO 9000 Quality Assurance Certificate which the Babaeski TSO has acquired and said, “This mentality is revolutionary. In this regard, it is very important.” Hisarcıklıoğlu also stated that they wish to provide support for the new service building of the Babaeski TSO.

- Support for a university in Lüleburgaz

TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu then visited the Lüleburgaz Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Regarding the Municipality Director Emin Halebak’s request for a TOBB University in the province, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “I greatly admire your unity and solidarity. What else is there for me to say after the municipality director has spoken? If the director provides the location and buildings, I’ll bring the TOBB University to Lüleburgaz.

Visiting Çorlu TSO, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the Çorlu TSO deserves 5 stars by becoming accredited.
