The Netherlands visit will place in the cities of Amsterdam (April 16th & 17th), Rotterdam (April 18th) and Maastricht (April 19th).

- Turkey-Netherlands Business Forum

On the 17th of April, the Turkey – Netherlands Business Forum will be held with a wide attendance from both business worlds, the attendances of the President of the Republic Abdullah Gül, Netherlands Deputy Prime Minister and Economy, Agriculture and Innovation Minister Maxime Verhagen, Willem-Alexander, Prince of Orange, heir apparent to the throne of the Netherlands and his wife Princess Máxima of the Netherlands.

In addition to the pairing up of companies in according to their sectors and wishes, round-table meetings regarding the sectors of agriculture and livestock, logistics and transportation as well as renewable energy and environmental technologies.

As part of President Gül’s state visit, the “CEO Forum” will be held with the attendances of Prince Willem-Alexander, Princess Máxima, Deputy Prime Minister Maxime Verhagen and Turkish and Netherlander CEOs.

- Hisarcıklıoğlu will meet with Turkish entrepreneurs in Europe

On April 18th, Turkish entrepreneurs residing in Europe will hold a meeting with TOBB and DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu presiding.

On April 19th, President Gül will open the Expo Floraide 2012 International Botanical Exposition in the city of Venlo. Afterwards, he will travel to Maastricht for diplomatic contacts.

- Netherlands economy and bilateral relations

Netherlands, with a high per capita income of 40,000 Dollars, has a developed economy. It is Europe’s 5th and the world’s 16th largest economy. Netherlands is the 7th country in the world in terms of foreign investments received. There are approximately 6,000 foreign company headquarters in the country. It has the world’s fourth and Europe’s largest sea port. Continuing the tradition of a nation of commerce, Netherlands has become a world leader in transportation and logistics with its central location in Europe.

In 2011 Turkey’s exports to Netherlands were 3.2 billion Dollars with 4 billion Dollars in imports from the Netherlands. The Netherlands is the first country in terms of direct foreign investment into Turkey.

For Turkish companies, the prominent fields of cooperation are in the sectors of renewable energy, environment technologies, agriculture and agriculture technologies, livestock, logistics-transportation, tourism, R&D, health tourism, education and food.
