TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu hosted the Ajaria Autonomous Zone Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Tamaz Shavadze in his offices.
At the meeting, during which matters of bilateral trade, economic relations and the problems of businessmen were discussed, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the Turkish private sector drives its strength from its strong chambers system and that TOBB is ready to provide all support for the establishment of a chamber system and Organized Industry Zone (OIZ) in Ajaria. TOBB President stated that he will visit Batumi as soon as possible with a delegation.
Stating that Georgia's economy is developing but the strength of the chambers needs improvement, Shavadze said that reforms are being made to the system.
Shavadze invited TOBB President and a delegation to visit Batumi in order to show the business opportunities in Ajaria.
Also stating that an area has been set aside for the establishment of an OIZ but TOBB's support is required, Tamaz Shavadze requested that the Turkish side decrease regulations as per the Free Trade Agreement.
