Numan Kurtulmuş visited TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu

HAS Party Prsident Numan Kurtulmuş visited the TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu as part of the new constitution efforts. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the 22 civil society and professional organizations making up the “Constitution Platform” would be handing over their findings this weekend.
HAS Party President Kurtulmuş handed over the draft they prepared to TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu. After a meeting of approximately an hour, Kurtulmuş and Hisarcıklıoğlu made a statement.
Kurtulmuş stated that the first and foremost duty set to the Grand Assembly by the people is the preparation of a new constitution and that they have relayed the draft which they’ve prepared to approximately 3,000 NGOs.
Stating that most people see the new constitution as the quickest and surest solution to Turkey’s fundamental problems, Kurtulmuş said, “This demand cannot be denied. From time to time there are disputes whether it is a suitable time for constitutional change. We think that the main determining factor of that is the will of the people. The National Assembly has to address this.”
Kurtuluş stated that a constitutional beneficial to the people would find large support from the citizens and said that the new constitution also needs to change the system.
