İzzet Göldaş, who lost two sons, two daughters-in-law and a grandchild during the October 2011 Van-Erciş earthquake, paid a return visit to TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
Göldaş thanked Hisarcıklıoğlu and stated that he is thankful despite everything; that in order to live one must be thankful for everything, both given and taken.
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu had visited Van and Erciş following the earthquake, along with 78 civil society organizations. Hisarcıklıoğlu visited İzzet Göldaş who had lost his relatives during this time and presented his condolences. Upon hearing “Allah has reclaimed His charge,” from İzzet Göldaş, Hisarcıklıoğlu was overcome with emotion and stated that Turkey stands with the survivors.
