In his announcement regarding terror attacks which took place yesterday in Trabzon and today in Siirt’s Eruh county, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Neither our hearts nor our ideas will surrender to terror. Those who hope to benefit from weapons and blood would do well to remember this. The only thing they will be remembered for will be their acts written in human history in blood and shame.”
In his message Hisarcıklıoğlu said:
“We have learned to our great sorrow that following the attacks resulting in the wounding of our soldiers in the Düzköy county of Trabzon, PKK terrorists using large caliber weapons have ambushed a military unit at Gedikkaşar in Eruh County of Siirt, wherein 4 of our soldiers were martyred.
74 million have cried out against these attacks on our soldiers for years. The unity and solidarity of this country cannot be disturbed. You can’t dissolve the mortar which holds together the people of this country together with terror and weapons. Because the people of this country are connected to each other through love. There is no weapon which can destroy this.
Those who threaten others’ most basic human right, the right to live; those who would attack our soldiers and those who would aid and abet these persons, we say this: This Nation has spoiled your schemes throughout the years. It will do so again. Our fraternity, unity and solidarity will bury your dark and ugly aspirations in the past along with the bullets you have fired on innocent hearts.
It is with these feelings and thoughts that I, on behalf of the Turkish business world, pray for the grace of Allah upon our martyred soldiers, present my condolences to their relatives and our great nation and hope for the speedy recovery of the wounded.”
