Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

At the iftar supper, in addition to TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Republic Abdullah Gül, TOBB Board Vice President and İTO Board President Dr. Murat Yalçıntaş, İTO Council President İbrahim Çağlarl, İstanbul Governor Hüseyin Avni Mutlu, İstanbul Police Department Chief Hüseyin Çapkın as well as various prominent members of the business, media, university and culture world were present.

President Abdullah said in his speech, “The Union of Chambers [and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey] and the İstanbul Chamber of Commerce and the real owners of the business world. This is the heart of İstanbul: Eminönü. I am very happy to be here with you today in this historic focal point.”

Gül said, “As President of the Republic, the field I see as the most successful is the business world. Turkey present economic success has underlying it this business world of high dynamism and wide horizons.”

President Gül stated, “All of our efforts and struggles as people who love this country is for it to be better and for the Turkish people to be happier. When we consider Turkey with its surroundings today, we have a lot to be grateful for. We must recognize the value of economic and political stability as well as the general outlook of the present condition. I believe that we can overcome our problems with confidence.”

TOBB Board Vice President and İstanbul Chamber of Commerce Board President Dr. Murat Yalçıntaş stated that it is a great honor and privilege to be hosting the President of the Republic of Turkey at İTO.

Yalçıntaş said, “The President has shown us the way in the field of social responsibility as in many others. In pursuit of social responsibility we as the İstanbul Chamber of Commerce have started building schools on behalf of martyrs. We have completed 6 school and the construction of 7 are underway. Hopefully we will complete another 14 as TOBB.”

- “Turkey’s Exalting Years”

The autobiographical book “Turkey’s Exalting Years” by Prof. Dr. Nevzat Yalçıntaş was also introduced during the supper. Presenting the first issue of the book to the President, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Yalçıntaş said, “The President is guiding the country in all fields. That he has made an effort to be here with us today is indicative of how faithful he is.”
