The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Polatlı Commodity Exchange will construct a 24 classroom Science High School in Polatlı, Ankara as well as a dormitory for 300 students. The protocol for the school and dormitory was signed by TOBB, Polatlı Commodity Exchange and the Ankara Governorship at the ceremony held at the TOBB Towers.
Speaking at the protocol ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu put special emphasis on the importance of education. Stating that they have decided as the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, along with the Polatlı Commodity Exchange, to build a Science High School and dormitory, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The school will have 24 classrooms while the dormitory will house 300 students. With a gym and housing for teachers, it will be a large school complex constructed with the latest technology. We will sign the protocol for the construction shortly with the governor. I would like to thank the opinion leaders of Polatlı who have pioneered the taking of this step. They encouraged us. They worked hard for this. I would like to thank them for involving us in this beneficent endeavor.”
Stating that the saving of a single person is the saving of the whole world, Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed the importance of people. The TOBB President said, “A good education is the most important element in saving a person. Hopefully those who graduate from this school will bring prosperity to themselves, their families and the country. The only thing more effective at changing the world better than a sword is a pencil. Whatever you learn of in your life, the best way to control it is to have an education.”

Ankara Governor Alaaddin Yüksel reported that the public’s contribution to education in Ankara in the last 10 years has reached 301 million TL, with 140 million TL in public contribution in the last year.
Yüksel said, “We urge everyone who drinks the water of Ankara, eats its bread and breathes its air; everyone who feels an obligation towards Ankara to work together to sign a protocol.”
Polatlı Commodity Exchange President Yahya Toplu drew attention to the importance of education in the development of societies and stated that the private sector needs to contribute to education in addition to the government.
After the speeches, Ankara Governor Yüksel, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Polatlı Commodity Exchange President Toplu signed the protocol for the construction of a Science High School in Polatlı, Ankara.
Polatlı Commodity Exchange President Toplu presented Governor Yüksel and TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu with vases signifying prosperity and TOBB Board Vice President Faik Yavuz with a model of Noah’s Ark.
