Speaking at the “Ancient City of Kayseri Publicity Days” held at ATO Congresium which was also attended by the President of the Republic Abdullah Gül, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the residents of Kayseri flock to help each other when the need arises and went on, “That is our greatest treasure.”
“Ancient City of Kayseri Publicity Days” brought together many Kayseri citizens longing for their hometown, President Abdullah Gül chief among them. In addition to Gül and Hisarcıklıoğlu, attending the event were TBMM Group Deputy Chairman Sadık Yakut, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, Kayseri Governor Şerif Yılmaz, Ankara Municipality Director Melih Gökçek, Kayseri Municipality Director Mehmet Özhaseki and many citizens.
Speaking at the opening of the event, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that although he is unable to visit Kayseri due to his busy schedule, Kayseri has come to Ankara with the publicity days.
Stating that they are often asked how they became rich, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The answer to that is city branding and standing in unity and solidarity. Knowing that there’s prosperity in unity and solidarity while there is anguish in dissent; everyone came together when Kayseri was mention. This unity brings prosperous profits. That is the secret to it. Those who ask how the citizens of Kayseri profit so much should observe this,” in closing Hisarcıklıoğlu also mentioned that Kayseri will soon become one of the most important ski resorts of the world.

President of the Republic Abdullah Gül said, “The more we open up to the world, the more we carry high standards to our cities and strive to reach them, we will improve our lives and cities and serve our regions.”
Addressing the guests at the “Ancient City of Kayseri Publicity Days” at ATO Congresium, Gül said, “It gives me great pleasure and happiness to be among you in such a gathering. You all have my love and affection.”
Emphasizing that the qualities of Kayseri have already been stated, Gül said, “It would be unnecessary for me to retell the virtues of Kayseri and its citizens. What gives me great joy is seeing the increase of metropolitan cities like İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir. One such is Kayseri.”
Stating that Kayseri’s history is plain to see and that it is an ancient city, Gül said, “A city distinct in its trade, of esteemed qualities, having proven itself in industry and taken great leaps in the field of education with 4 universities today. Now, it is taking great strides in the field of tourism. These all make us proud. Without a doubt, as a citizen of Kayseri, it gives me great joy to see these qualities in an Anatolian city, it makes me very proud.”
Stating that Kayseri is an exemplary city of increasing standards, Gül said that politicians, local officials and businessmen have contributed greatly to the city.
Thanking everyone for their services, Gül emphasized that the event, which will last 4 days, will be very beneficial for the city’s publicity.
- Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs Veysel Eroğlu
Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs Veysel Eroğlu stated that Kayseri is an exemplary city in regards to its infrastructure and organized construction plan.
Eroğlu said that Kayseri deserves to be a 7 star city, not just 5, with its infrastructure, drinking water and solid waste disposal.

After his speech, President Gül visited the booths at the event and spoke with the students of an elementary school as well as taking pictures with TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, Kayseri Municipality Director Mehmet Özhaseki and TBMM Group Deputy Chairman Sadık Yakut at various booths.
