Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

Speaking at the meeting, Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu provided information regarding the developments at the Turkish-Syrian border, drawing attention to the humanitarian tragedy playing out. Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the importance of a cease-fire during the Eid ul Adha.

EUROCHAMBRES President Alessandro Barberis expressed EUROCHAMBRES’ support in the matter of Turkey and Syria.

Also during the General Assembly, the election of the 2013 Board of Directors was held. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu will be representing Turkey at the Board of Directors in 2013 in addition to his role of EUROCHAMBRES Vice President.

TOBB was once again reelected to the Budget Committee comprised of 15 members.

Hisarcıklıoğlu also discussed the details of the Turkey-Greece-Bulgaria tripartite business forum to be held in Çanakkale on the 21st of November with the Hellenic Chambers Union President Constantine Michalos and the Bulgarian Chambers Union Tsvetan Simeonov.

Hisarcıklıoğlu and Hellenic Chambers Union President Constantine Michalos met with the Erasmus exchange students from TOBB University of Economy and Technology at the Europe Economic and Social Committee Headquarters.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the jeweler owned by the President of the Emirdağ Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdil Demiral. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “It makes me proud to see our entrepreneurs active everywhere.”
