Fernandez and Assistant Secretary, Department of Commerce Michael Camunez visited TOBB on January 24th, 2011. In the framework of the meeting, ideas were exchanged on increasing efforts on Turkey-US economic and trade relations. ​

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB expressed that “Today the most important challenge of Turkish economy is to transform from an efficiency-driven economy to an innovation-driven economy. I believe the United States have a lot to contribute to Turkey in overcoming this challenge. The stronger the Turkish economy, the stronger our model partnership will be.”
