The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) will construct a 16 classroom science high school in Kayseri. Speaking at the signing ceremony for the protocol regarding the construction, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu put emphasis on the importance they put on education and stated that the strongest asset in the 21st century is an educated young population.
Hosted by TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu at the TOBB Union Center in Ankara, the ceremony was attended by the Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız, TBMM Deputy Speaker and Kayseri Representative Sadık Yakut, Kayseri Representatives Pelin Gündeş Bakır, Ahmet Öksüzkaya, İsmail Tamer and Yaşar Karayel, Kayseri Governor Şerif Yılmaz, TOBB Board Vice President Faik Yavuz, TOBB Board Member Mustafa Boydak, Kayseri Municipality Director Mehmet Özhaseki, Kayseri Chamber of Commerce President M. Asaf Mehmetbeyoğlu, Kayseri Trade Exchange Başkanı Şaban Ünlü, Yahyalı Chamber of Commerce President Veyis Niyazioğlu, Develi Chamber of Commerce President Mustafa Maşlak and Bünyan Chamber of Commerce President Naim Yavuz.
In his speech at the ceremony, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that TOBB puts great importance on education. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Turkey has no natural gas, no petroleum. Its strongest asset is its young population. If we educate our youth well, we will have the greatest power of the 21st century.”
Stating that these projects are being undertaken by the Turkish private sector as part of their understanding of social responsibility, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have constructed schools in 22 provinces starting with elementary schools.”

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız stated that Kayseri is a very dynamic city and that this dynamism must trigger all sectors into action; and that, following Ankara, İstanbul and İzmir, houses 4 universities and deserves a modern science high school.
- Governor Yılmaz: Philanthropists have built 1,508 classrooms
Speaking at the ceremony, Kayseri Governor Şerif Yılmaz stated that the biggest contribution to education in Kayseri is the classrooms built by philanthropists.
Emphasizing that the private sector has surpassed state contributions in terms of classrooms constructed in the last 10 years, Yılmaz said, “While the number of classrooms in the last 10 years is 1,422, the number of classrooms built by philanthropists has reached 1,508.”
- Protocol signet between DEİK and Oran Development Agency
Following the protocol signing ceremony for the Kayseri Science High School, a protocol between the Foreign Economic Affairs Council (DEİK) and the Central Anatolia (Oran) Development Agency. The first of the agreements as a result of the cooperation between Development Agencies and DEİK, it was signed by TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Oran Development Agency and Kayseri Governor Şerif Yılmaz.
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu drew attention to the importance of the protocol and stated that the project would bring cities closer to the business world.
Providing information regarding the works of DEİK, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that they hold bilateral business councils with 109 countries.
