In Washington D.C. for various contacts, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with Turkey’s Ambassador to Washington D.C. USA, Namık Tan. Attending the meeting were TOBB Board Vice President Bülent Koşmaz, TOBB Board Member Harun Karacan and the TOBB Delegation accompanying them.
During the meeting, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu provided Ambassador Tan with information regarding the memorandum of understanding signed between TOBB and the US Chamber of Commerce.
Ambassador Tan thanked Hisarcıklıoğlu for the work TOBB has undertaken in regards to the USA and provided information regarding the probable changes to the Cabinet following the presidential election.
Touching on bilateral economic and commercial relations Ambassador Tan said, “As Turkey, we are unable to take advantage of the investment opportunities in the USA. There is a mutual lack of knowledge. I think that the memorandum of understanding is an important step to solving this lack of information.”
