Stating that he was acquainted with Mehmet Akif Ersoy’s love of homeland and nation from his childhood, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Later, in my readings of the Safahat, I witnessed the genius and character of Akif. Safahat was an extraordinary literary work for us in our youth for the ethical values it contained. We learned of the drama of Seyfi Baba, the responsibility of those serving in government in The Beldam and Ömer. His message was engrained in our souls. His memoirs of travel abroad, his lectures are sources of guidance and advice.”

Stating that there is at least as much need of his intelligence, words, honesty, loyalty and patriotism, Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed that every poem penned by Mehmet Akif is exemplary today.

Reminding TOBB has prepared a compilation of Mehmet Akif Ersoy’s poetry with “Safahat” the TOBB President said, “We believe that instilling his ideas, his cause and the spirit of the national anthem by drawing inspiration from the light and thoughts of Mehmet Akif Ersoy is an important mission for us. Mehmet Akif Ersoy holds a special place in the hearts of the Turkish people with his dedication to national values. On the 78^th anniversary of his passing, we remember our national poet Ersoy with compassion. May the grace of Allah be upon him and heaven be his abode.”
