Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Whenever guests from abroad ask for canes we send for them from Devrek. Devrek should list its other goods as geographical markers. You’ve been blessed with forests, greenery and water. Those living in big cities want to meet with nature. This is a great opportunity for tourism.”
Drawing attention to the fact that Turkey has no petroleum or natural gas, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Allah has given us an extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit. Turkey has learned enterprise in the last 30 years. We must increase our entrepreneur numbers in order to prosper. It is impossible otherwise. When we look at countries with similar populations with better economies than Turkey, we see that the most important advantage they have over us is the number of entrepreneurs they have is higher than ours.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu went on to stress the importance of promoting a culture of enterprise among women and youth, to encourage them to take part in the economy; he went on to urge parents to bring up their children, both boys and girls, with an entrepreneurial spirit.
